Waxing is a semi-permanent hair removal, which removes the hair from the root.
New hair will not grow back for 6-8 weeks, although some people will see regrowth in a few weeks at first due to some hair being on a different growth cycle.
Hair has a specific growth cycle with four stages.
Anagen - The Growth Stage.
Catagen - The Transition Stage.
Telogen - The Resting Stage.
Exogen - The Shedding Stage
(more detailed explanation can be found here)
With regular waxing every 3-4 weeks, you are more likely to get your hair on the same growth cycle stage allowing for optimal waxing results.
Hair grows in 4 stages stated above and it can take up to 4 waxing treatments on a regular basis before all of the hair is on the same growth cycle stage.
Your first wax may not last as long as someone you know who has regular waxes. It may last 1 - 4 weeks, it all depends on your own genetics and how recently you shaved before your appointment. I recommend you do not shave or use any other form of hair removal 3-4 weeks before your first appointment.
Please remember not to shave, tweeze or use hair removal creams in between waxing appointments as this interrupts the hair growth cycle. The more you wax the longer it will last.
Benefits
Effective method to remove large amounts of hair at one time.
It is long lasting.
Hair is removed at the root, unlike shaving and depilatory creams.
Smooth, silky skin that lasts.
No skin damage.
Some hair removal techniques are only effective on certain hair colours, textures and types of skin. Waxing is not and will remove any type of hair colour, textures and types.
Finer & softer body hair.
Double function hair removal and exfoliation
If the hair is waxed often enough it can weaken the follicle and cause permanent loss of hair.
Potential side effects are relatively minimal with wax.
Waxing can be performed on practically all areas of the body.
Maintenance
First 4 treatments - Every 4 weeks.
After 4 treatments - 6-8 weeks.
